Hi! This is the first post for this blog and I am super excited to be writing it! As you can tell by the name it is going to be a blog about hairstyling. I'm hoping to be able to post video tutorials later on, but for now it's just pictures. The first tutorial that I'm going to put on here is just a simple braided bun hairstyle.

This is the finished product. That's my sister's hair, she has to let me fix it for her because she can not do a thing with her hair besides straighten it. And before you ask yes she is my sister even though her hair is red and mine is brown. When we were younger I remember going places and everybody always said how pretty her hair was and I would be over there like "hey look I have hair too, look at my hair". They still do that but now I like to flatter myself and think that it is because I fix her hair. Like I said this is a really easy hairstyle to do and she gets lots of compliments when she wears her hair like this. And it doesn't take more than five minutes to do, coming from someone who considers taking ten minutes to fix your hair is too long makes this hairstyle a keeper. Just for that reason my hair usually gets thrown into a ponytail. I'm sure everyone thinks that she is the one who can fix hair just judging from the fact that her hair always looks nice and mine looks like my five year old brother did it, but like I said if she didn't have me all her hair would have been burnt out from straightening It a long time ago.

Step 1.   Start with brushed hair and part down the middle.

Step 2. Take a small piece of hair from the left side of the top of your head(it doesn't really matter which side but I usually start on the left.) Your just going to do a Dutch braid down the side of your head. A Dutch braid is like an upside down French braid, you are just going to loop the hair under instead of over.  You will need to leave a small section of hair out of the braid at the nape of the neck.

This is the start of the dutch braid.
Step 3. After You finish the first braid you are going to do an identical one on the other                                                                                            side of the head. Remember to  leave a small section of hair out of the braid at the nape of the neck.
Step 4. Now all you do is braid the two braids and the loose hair together in a regular braid.
Step 5. at this point you could just leave your hair in a braid if you wanted to but if not all you are going to do is twist the braid into a bun at the base of your neck, making sure to secure it with bobby pins and hairspray.
This is me twisting the braid into a bun, that happens to be an awful picture where my hand looks giant.
This is the finished product, and the best part is it only took around five minutes. It's not that hard to do on yourself  if you can't find a willing pair of hands to do it for you. I should know because I'm the only one who tries to fix my hair.
